Are you at your wits end in your current job and want something more? Too broke to quit and go back to school full time? Would you be interested in getting a diploma, certificate, or degree with just a few hours a week? If you agree with any of these distance education may be just what you need.

There are plenty of options that schools are offering so that their students can continue with courses while holding a full time or part time job. These courses can be limited but the list increases as the popularity of the idea grows. Of course there will always be some courses that require a student to attend class which is reasonable (who would want a doctor performing surgery without proving he/she can show up on time for a class?).

Currently there are still a lot of courses offered through distance education that are not recognized as much as their equivalent classroom courses are but that, too, is changing. Before applying to a course or program, research should be done to ensure that it is a legit course and that employers in your area recognize it. You don’t want to spend the time and money on anything and not be able to use it.
