Viewing situations from a negative perspective is not as bad as it seems. “It is what you do with the though that counts.” I know you maybe thinking HUH! Kenia, where are you getting with this?
Ok, for a better understanding I will give you one scenario with two different people that have a natural tendency to think negative.
Scenario for both Amy & Ana (both pessimists)
They both want to start their own businesses. But, their first instinct is: I know nothing about starting or running a business!
Amy’s Reaction to her negative thought was: Since I know nothing about starting or running a business; I will not even bother trying. I am bound to fail.
Ana’s Reaction to the negative thought was: I know I am not qualified to start or run a business. But, she sat down with a notebook and pen and wrote as a title; how can I get the required skill to become a successful entrepreneur? And came up with a list of ways to enhance or acquired the necessary skills. For a visual example see the list below.
See how easy that was! By focusing on ways to overcome the barriers in the way of her success; she was able to find solutions. It will be a lot easier to proceed once she knows what she needs to do.
While Amy is probably moping around feeling sorry for her self Ana has come up with a plan for success!
So from now on when you have a negative though that can be getting on your way: Use it to your advantage.
Best of Luck!
