I call entrepreneurship “The art of taking risk”. That is how I started it. Being from Computer Science department, IIT Delhi people always expected me to go for a M.S. in U.S.A. But things turned down to be different as I was always looking for a different track. I wanted to be a top entrepreneur.
I began with the mind of a computer scientist and thought of lots of ideas and imagination that they will be converted into a million dollar business soon. But entrepreneurship was quite different than Computer Science. Lols. My journey started by reading books from my gurus Robert Kiyosaki, Anthony Robbins. I joined various yahoogroups for getting in touch with entrepreneurial people, the best one being spiritofentrepreneurship. I never knew it would change my life. I started with a business plan of a distance learning business. Unfortunately we could not materialize the business plan. The next came XirsVentures Inc. which was cofounded by IIT alumni. I worked with them in setting up things initially. I also worked with them as an analyst and worked on bidding projects via Elance. Xirs Ventures is a global company with offices in U.S.A, India and Australia. At the same time I came in touch with Maninder who is founder of the website 123oye . We worked on certain plans for 123oye. Some of them materialized while others didn’t. But with his perseverance I was sure he will make this a very good website for information on jobs and career. I was still in thirst of more. And lots of ideas came to my mind and then came the concept of training students to bridge the gap. Six people sat together, brainstormed and founded “Xirs Appin”. The concept has changed many folds now and so have lots of things. The name of the company became “Appin Knowledge Solutions” (www.appinonline.com) once we incorporated it. We are a nation-wide company now that offers extensive workshops, training programmes and seminars that transforms people’s life in technology areas and personal development. It is a long way we have moved from a time when I remember we had Rs 5k in bank account and no brand name. We have presence in India and U.S.A and very soon we will be expanding to Philippines. Our sole aim is to provide training programmes and workshops that transform the education in the world. For more details you can visit www.appinonline.com.
There are few very important things about entrepreneurship that came out of this journey. I will list out few of them
